Audition Sign-Up

Ensemble:
Ages 21 and up only for this season 
Roles Available: 
Player, Game Master, Host
Audition Times:
Sign up for a 5 minute slot between 4pm-7pm on Sunday, December 7 and Monday, December 8
Audition Location:
Bookmarx at 325 E. Walnut Street in Downtown Springfield
Additional Audition Information: 
Please arrive 10 minutes early to your audition slot to fill out an audition form
When you arrive at Bookmarx, check in at the auditions table. The helper will give you a form to fill out and they will send you back when it’s your time to audition.

WHAT TO PREPARE

When you step into the audition space, you will say your name and what role(s) you’ll be auditioning for and then your time will begin.
Players Auditions:
Use up to three minutes to describe TWO different character concepts including the following:
  • Character name, Species, Pronouns, Class
  • A brief backstory which also includes the character’s main objective and is spoken in the voice of the character.
    • Note: Both characters should have a distinct voice and a different class.
  • Prepare your presentation carefully because you will be stopped at three minutes due to time constraints. 
A two minute interview will follow your presentation. 
Game Master Auditions:
Use up to three minutes to present a HOMEBREW campaign which includes: 
  • World concept (your goal is to give us a glimpse)
  • Main story objective including the potential source of conflict
  • Describe a couple notable NPCs and use their voices, showcasing range
  • Prepare your presentation carefully because you will be stopped at three minutes due to time constraints. 
A two minute interview will follow your presentation.
To audition for BOTH Game Master and Player:
Inform the audition panel at the beginning of your time. Then split the five minutes between the two roles with the same information requested as above. There will not be a 2 minute interview.
The Host Auditions:
The Host facilitates audience interactions, assists the DM, can substitute for players, and keeps the group moving and mindful of time.
Mark the audition form if you’d like to be considered for this role and prepare a Player audition. 

expect heavy role play, battle cries, character transformations, and emotional turmoil!!!

Kaleb is a professional DM running games every week! He has his BFA in Acting, has been a LARPer for years, and has directed dozens of plays and musicals. Kaleb is also a crochet artist and can be seen at many of the local markets and fairs. He is a track director for Tremendicon and the theatre director for the Academy of Performing Arts. As a player, he’ll rock some devastating spells or fill the role as designated healer.
